Where did the month go? – March 2016

Hey there,

Happy spring! The daffodils are out, the nights are becoming lighter and I’m considering packing away my scarf. Only considering, mind. Let’s not get carried away, it’s still Scotland.😉

Writing-wise March started off in an exciting way because I did my first ever free promotion of Tapestry. I decided to run it over the (UK) Mother’s Day weekend because, as you’ll know if you’ve been around my blog for a while, Tapestry is dedicated to my Mum. I’m going to post separately next week a bit more about my free promotion experience but, in a nutshell, it was fun and worth doing to see what happened.

My monthly treat for the last few months has been the My Little Box subscription. March’s theme was “Bubbles” and, again, there were some interesting and sweet products in the box.

I’m particularly pleased with the beauty blender, because I was thinking of getting one of them anyway. The value of the products in the box is more than the subscription price, so it walks the line between being an extravagance and a bargain. I’m not sure if I’ll continue with the subscription much longer – I feel like it’s aimed at younger folks than me, but it’s been interesting to try.

But enough of all that. Here comes my most exciting news for March…

*inserts drumroll and tries to build anticipation without overdoing it*

…for the last few months I’ve been focused on the fairly major undertaking of starting my own business.

I’ve been working on a range of stationery designs and will be launching, I’m planning, in May. Within a few months I want to expand into textiles too – I’m very excited to show you everything I’ve been working on! I don’t see all this as a separate endeavour to writing, more as a complementary one – my writing is as important to me as always and my hopes for my books haven’t changed.  My “online presence” for the business will be…um…present online fairly soon and, of course, you guys will be the ones I hope will like it!

I can’t wait to keep you up to date with progress and hope you’ll come along with me on my new venture!
