Hey there,
Hope you are well today.
I’ve mentioned a couple of times how much I enjoy the vlogs and videos by some of You Tube’s beauty and lifestyle people. I’ve learned a lot about make-up and been introduced to gazillions of products (beauty and otherwise) I wouldn’t otherwise have come across or noticed. Here are a few of my favourites:
Clinique black honey mascara (as seen on Lily Pebbles)
I liked the sound of this as an alternative to straight up black because I thought it might be softer. It looks aubergine on the brush, but not on the lashes and it’s a really nice colour. I went on to buy a small set of other black honey products at the cosmetics company outlet when we visited Cheshire Oaks. The lipstick is lovely too, very subtle considering it looks so purple.
Maggs London make up bag (Hannah Maggs as seen on The Michalaks)
I watch the Michalaks weekly vlog on a Sunday and wanted to support Hannah’s business. I bought the Henley fabric bag. I must admit I balked a little because it was pricier than I would normally spend, but I’ve been really pleased with it. It’s deceptively roomy and very well made. I’ve been throwing it around for months and it’s showing no signs of wear.
Escentric Molecule 01 (as seen on Lily Pebbles)
I’ve included this as a favourite because I’m intrigued by the idea, but I’m still a little on the fence. Harvey Nicholls website describes it as “less of a fragrance than an effect”. It’s chemical – made from the ISO E super, a lab created molecule, that releases its scent to the wearer intermittently. Are we clear on that? No, me neither.
Bottom line, it’s definitely subtle, but very pleasant. When I can smell it.
Jo Malone fragrances (as seen on Pretty Shiny Sparkly)
A little luxury, but that never hurts now and again, does it? I got the Cologne collection as a Christmas present and am loving all the fragrances. One of Jo Malone’s trademark ideas is that of fragrance combining, so the opportunities to feel like you are wearing a different perfume are plentiful.
Erin Condren Life Planner (as seen on Pretty Neat Living)
I started down the road of watching beauty and lifestyle videos because, a couple of years ago, I searched You Tube for planner related videos and to say I found plenty is an understatement. I had heard of Erin Condren’s products, but not looked in any detail. However, after seeing some detailed videos I became a fan. It’s probably a good thing that the cost of international shipping is a deterrent…
Have you made any purchases because of You Tube? Are there any other beauty or lifestyle You Tubers that you would recommend? I’d love to hear from you, so please get in touch either here or on Twitter!
Much love,
Elle :-) xx
