Creatively drained

Hey there,

Hope your day is going well so far.

You’ll be pleased to hear this post is about drains.

Please bear with me. :-)

Over the summer I took part in the Make in in Design summer school. It was a taster of surface pattern design with prompts and creative exercises to kick start the design process. It was the first time I’d tried it, but I enjoyed it so much I signed up for one of their main modules which started in September.

It’s a bit early for me to start sharing my designs as, at the moment, most of them are entitled, What the heck is that? However, I have been noticing more patterns around me and wanted to share something I’ve recently realised.

There are many different patterns on drain covers.

See?

You’re welcome.

I’m going to take a short blog break for half term, so I’ll see you in a couple of weeks. In the meantime, why not check out a drain cover near you? I’d love to see your pictures on Twitter (@ElleTWriter) or Instagram (elletwriter). ;-)

Much love,

Elle xx
